Approximate Flight Time
From Europe to Accra is 6 hours 30 minutes (direct).

International Airport
'KOTOKA International Airport' (is situated in Accra, 10km (6 miles) north of Accra. Taxis from the airport to the city are available 24 hours, and travel time is about 20 minutes.

SEA
Ghana has two deep-water ports, one at TAKORADI, and the other at TEMA.

LAKE
There is a domestic leisure lake transport plying from Akosombo to Yeji and back.

ROAD
A coast road links Lagos, Cotonou and Lome to Accra. The best internal road from Abidjan (Cote d'Ivoire) runs inland through Kumasi. The road from Burkina Faso crosses the border at Navrongo. Long-distance taxis operate between Ghana and neighbouring countries.

CAR HIRE
Available, with or without a driver.

COACH
State-run and private coach services connect all major towns.

DRIVING
Ghana drives on the right, and a current international driving licence is required. Drivers bringing vehicles into Ghana require a 'carnet de passage' and international insurance.

AIR
There are domestic airports in Kumasi, Tamale and Sunyani.

RAIL
There is a rail service between Accra, Takoradi and Kumasi and several intervening towns.
