Ghana 60th Independence Reception
at Okura Hotel March 6, 2017
The Embassy of Ghana in Tokyo organised a reception on Monday 6th March, 2017 at Okura Hotel, to mark Ghana’s 60th Independence anniversary. The event was attended by about three hundred people, consisting of the Diplomatic Community, host officials, Business Executives, and members of the Ghanaian Community.
The Ambassador of Ghana to Japan, H.E. Mr. S.J.K. Parker-Allotey in his speech referred to the excellent relations between Ghana and Japan. He expressed appreciation to the Emperor and Empress as well as the Government and People of Japan for their hospitality, and conveyed Ghana’s solidarity with Japan on the occasion of the sixth (6th) anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami which was marked at the end of the same week.
The statement further furnished information about developments in Ghana and conveyed His Excellency the President of Ghana’s Independence anniversary message on Ghana’s efforts to invest in and mobilize the youth for the rapid and successful transformation of the country.
As part of event, the Mission mounted an exhibition of made-in-Ghana products which showcased various manufactured products available in Ghana for export. The aim of the exhibition was to reach out to potential large-scale buyers and importers of the items on display.
